Okay, Lumpenprofessoriat,it isn't a tenure meeting (there was a spoof of a law school tenure meeting on YouTube, but it was a little too snotty even for the Radical.) But it is mildly funny. And short.

hmmm.... this post makes me want require that all faculty meetings be set to song.
I am with Lumpenprof. It would definitely spice things up.
Hey, TR, I wanna see the other video about the tenure committee meeting!
Let's write other lyrics...
"If I just had tenure...
...I could blow off all committee work, I could be a tenured jerk!
I'd get to do consulting...
I'd get paid to travel all the time, and leave untenured folks behind!"
Okay, nicer lyrics, because I AM tenured and so are many of my fav colleagues, like TR...
"Now that I have tenure...
...where did all my hoped for free time go? Now I've got an administrative role!?
I thought I could learn Spanish, and to play guitar and even travel home to see my kin...
I thought I would have more time in the day...
No one told me it would be this way...
Was it worth the price I had to pay? To become a tenured prof?"
Anyone?
Lesboprof is right: the lyrics are pretty weak. Health insurance comes with lots of untenured jobs, and minivans come with parentage....
I don't know that I'd want to hear my colleagues sing on a regular basis, but having a few tambourines might be nice....
Dear Radical,
I didn't support your candidate for President, but I felt bad for you today when he quit.
Some of my former students did one about the job market involving Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ("I have a golden ticket!")
