Ok, I figured Zenith out....Potemkin though?? It's obviously not a linguistic reference, but a characterization...but of Potemkin the man or the villages he is ignominiously associated with? I have to assume it's either in the same posse as Oligarch. Yet, I'm stumped.

Keep up the good reading :-) Thanks again for your talk and visiting Big Research U. in the middle of nowhere.Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04164328613990910454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36212542.post-9193136959405407322007-10-14T22:58:00.000-05:002007-10-14T22:58:00.000-05:00I know we won't ever be at the same conferences, b...I know we won't ever be at the same conferences, but that makes me sad, after reading this post.

What a lovely comment about Roy Rosenzweig. He sounds like a very good man and a strong scholar.

It is funny to think about academic conferences as a recurring community experience. I know a good number of people in my discipline, and I am only in year 8 of my professional academic life. I think about what it will be like to attend conferences after having gone for 10-20 years. Conferences serve as a great opportunity for me to reconnect to other women academics and other queers.Lesboprofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09249806181782620274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36212542.post-18307408255756338852007-10-14T12:56:00.000-05:002007-10-14T12:56:00.000-05:00Thank you for those wonderful words!
